The renowned Prof. Dr. Martin Henssler will join the Seitz team as of counsel on 1 April 2021. At the same time, the firm continues to grow with eight new hires at counsel and associate level in the first quarter of 2021 alone.
With Professor Dr Martin Henssler, Seitz gains one of the leading professors in business law in Germany. As managing director of Germany's largest business law institute, the Institut für Arbeits- und Wirtschaftsrecht (Institute for Labour and Business Law) at the University of Cologne, Professor Henssler stands for academic excellence, especially in the fields of employment law, commercial law and the law governing lawyers. In addition, Professor Henssler is in demand as a mediator in collective bargaining and arbitration proceedings, most recently together with leading politician Andrea Nahles in the collective bargaining negotiations between the German Red Cross and trade union ver.di for approx. 40,000 employees.
Martin Henssler brings his academic expertise to Seitz, especially in the highly sophisticated interdependency areas between labour law and corporate law. In addition, he supports Prof. Dr Thomas Kania and Dr Astrid Oleszak in the management of the firm's internal junior academy seitz.talents. The firm's already close ties to leading labour and corporate law chairs will be further strengthened with the arrival of Professor Henssler.
"Martin Henssler will be a valuable addition to our firm with his unique blend of outstanding academic expertise and practical experience gained over many decades," Dr Stefan Seitz, the firm's name partner, is certain. Prof. Dr. Martin Henssler is looking forward to the new task: "There are many appealing challenges for me. At Seitz, I will meet an outstanding team and expertise from what are currently probably the most exciting employment law mandates - from Lufthansa to Stellantis to the clarification of the data affair at my heart's club, VfB Stuttgart."
At the same time, Seitz is consistently expanding its employment and corporate law team: Dr Hannah Krings, who is known in the market as an employment lawyer with a focus on insolvency law, has already joined Seitz from Ebner Stolz as of 1 February 2021. In addition, Leonie Pfeufer from Bird&Bird and Dr. Dominik Riebartsch from Hoffmann Liebs will join Seitz as associates in employment law at the beginning of 2021. Associates Susanne Wegehaupt and Karen Schreckenberg in employment law and Jens Neldner in employment law/data protection will further strengthen the team. In corporate law, Dr Stefan Glasmacher joins Seitz from Mayer Brown. Furthermore, Dr Dennis Ehrlich joins as another seitz.talents associate.
